Well Proven Chair
Marjan van Aubel and James Shaw collaborated to integrate waste shavings into chair and stool designs, using bio-resin that triggers a unique foaming reaction when mixed with each other.
To address the significant timber wastage of 50% to 80% during normal manufacturing, Marjan van Aubel and James Shaw innovatively integrate waste shavings into their chair and stool designs using bio-resin.
Through a chemical reaction, the mixture expands into foam, forming a robust yet lightweight material applied manually beneath the stool shell.
The Well Proven Stools, designed for Transnatural Label, are created with unique shaped seats supported by turned legs of American ash, walnut, or cherry wood.
Similarly, the Well Proven Chair utilizes waste shavings and bio-resin to create a colourful and moldable material, applied by hand beneath the chair shell for added strength.
